Why should I customise a Job Type?
You may want to have custom job types, for example, if you have a maintenance contract that includes breakdown cover in the cost of the contract. Therefore when you raise a breakdown job your standard breakdown job type will most likely be chargeable, however in this instance you would want this to be a non-chargeable job type and therefore you would need a ‘custom’ breakdown job type that is non-chargeable.
How do I customise Job Types?
Go to Config ➔ Contracts ➔ Contract Types
Now select the relevant Contract Type you would like your Custom Type to apply to, and click the Job Types tab. On the right hand side, you will see the list of all the existing job types on the system, select the one you would like to customise and click the left arrow to move this over, this will then place (custom) next to the name.
If you then highlight the custom job type and click ‘Modify’ at the bottom, this will open the job type page so you can amend accordingly without affecting the original standard version of this job type.
